Sciatic pain is also felt in the thigh – normally the back of the thigh – but in this case it can be harder to pinpoint the cause and may even feel like muscle cramp. In this case the source is often the base of the spine even if there is no back pain. Accurate diagnosis and treatment will ensure a good recovery.
